Guided Walking Tours
Sunday, May 20 – “Weeds & Seeds: the Flora of Oakwood” – Don Leopold. The trees and plants of Oakwood are varied and very special. Find out what Oakwood has to offer and what makes the Cemetery so botanically unique.
Sunday, June 24 – “The Stories are Nifty in Section 50” – Sue Greenhagen. Join us as we meet the folks of Section 50, and what an interesting group they are. Meet at the columbarium near Comstock Gate.
Sunday, July 15 – “Stairway to … Section 17” – Our newest HOCPA Board member, Diane Medvitz, will lead a tour of a section that has a million stories (okay, not quite a million).
Sunday, August 19 – “Goin’ Like Sixty … to Section 60” Sue Greenhagen. Folks from all walks of life make up the residents of Section 60, and they can’t wait for you to hear their stories. Meet at the columbarium near the Comstock Gate.
Sunday, September 16 – “A Surprise Ramble with Karl“ Take a walk with our rambler-in-chief, Karl Orlick. He’s a teller of tales who loves to share.
Follow the tour signs to get to our meeting place from the entrance on Comstock Avenue.
All tours start at 2 o’clock.
We go, rain or shine, but we cancel if there’s thunder and lightning.
We try to limit the tours to 2 hours or less.
Please wear comfortable shoes.
All tours are free, but donations are accepted.
Individual tours available upon request.
