Public Forum Scheduled for Information on Campus Framework

Residents of the neighborhoods surrounding the Syracuse University campus, and other members of the community, are invited to learn more about the strategic goals and priorities as part of the Campus Framework. On Thursday, Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m., a public information session will be held at the Goldstein Student Center on Syracuse University’s South Campus, located at 401 Skytop Drive. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about  potential projects, ongoing initiatives, and future endeavors that will shape the future of the Syracuse University campus.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to have questions answered.

The meeting will include a presentation by Pete Sala, Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer. “The forum will provide an opportunity for our University neighbors to learn more about the Campus Framework, and to better understand what improvements are envisioned for strengthening the campus connection with the city,” said Sala. “The work we’re doing on campus this summer will have a direct and tangible impact on our students, faculty and staff. To continue enhancing our academic offerings, it is critical that we constantly assess our spaces and evolve to meet the changing needs of our students and research faculty.”

The meeting takes places while the summer construction season is in full swing on the Syracuse University campus, and continues a series of campus forums designed to share more information about the Campus Framework and ongoing construction projects.  The Campus Framework was originally released on June 20, 2016 following over 18 months of campus and community engagement that helped to identify strategic goals and priorities for the future of the Syracuse University campus, and its connection with the surrounding community.  The draft plan and additional information about ongoing construction can be found online at the website.

The public forum will take place in the first floor conference room, room 201, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  Parking will be available in the lot adjacent to the Goldstein Student Center.
